All of the excess skin between your belly button and pubic area can be removed during your tummy tuck surgery.
Once the incisions are made, your skin will be gently lifted so Dr. Brooks can tighten your abdominal muscles. Abdominal muscle tightening defines the waist and flattens the tummy.
Once the abdominal muscles are repaired, Dr. Brooks will gently pull the excess skin down towards your lower abdominal incision and all of the excess tissue will be removed. Your belly button will be pulled out through a new opening on the tightened skin of your flat tummy. Your final incisions are in the lower part of the abdomen and around the belly button.
How Much Weight Will I Lose From My Tummy Tuck?
Each patient varies. Several pounds can be removed from a massive weight loss patient. For a smaller, thinner woman who has loose skin and lots of stretch marks after having a baby, less weight will be removed.
Can My Abdominal Tattoo Be Completely Removed During My Tummy Tuck Surgery As Well?
If your tattoo is located on the excess skin that drapes over your lower abdominal incision line, yes, your tattoo will be completely removed during your tummy tuck surgery.
